Euro 2024
Turkey vs Georgia Euro 2024 prediction

The final group play their opening games on Tuseday as Turkey take on Georgia in the first game of the day, ahead of Portugal facing Czech Republic in the late kickoff.
Turkey will be looking to improve on four years ago where they were arguably the worst team at Euro 2020 – 0 points, 1 goal and 8 goals against in a group with Italy, Wales and Switzerland. Some foolish people had even tipped them as a dark horse the tournament! For the record, we successfully tipped Italy and Switzerland to beat them 4 years ago.
Vincenzo Montella guided his side to top of their qualifying group, 1 point ahead of Croatia and 5 ahead of Wales. Armenia and Latvia made up the group. Turkey won 3 of their 4 away games, drawing the other.
This could be a breakout tournament for Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler. He has 1 goal in 7 caps heading into Euro 2024, but scored 6 goals in 10 La Liga appearances (4 starts), all in the final few months of the season. The winger could be supplying Baras Yilmaz up front, although the Galatasaray striker is coming off just a 6-goal season from 37 league games in his homeland. Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz, Besiktas’ Cenk Tosun and Galatasaray’s Kerem Akturkoglu are all competing for starting places in attack too.
Georgia will be making their major international tournament debut after Willy Sagnol’s qualified via the UEFA Nations League. They did only finish 4th in their Euro 2024 qualifying group though – 8 points from 8 games of which 6 of those were against Cyprus, who lost all 8 games.
I watch a lot of football and I am not too familiar with many of the Georgia squad. They do have Valencia’s number 1 in Giorgi Mamardashvili, but they have an agging defence of which none of them play in a top league. Watford’s Giorgi Chakvetadze and Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could be known names to some.
It’s always risky to bet on what you don’t know, but given their poor performance in qualifying, and lack of teams in top leagues, I don’t expect Georgia to pick up any points in Germany this summer. I think there’s value in backing Turkey on Tuesday, but feel to watch and take in-play.
Best bet: Turkey to win is 8/11 with Bet365
