Tunisia vs Japan World Cup 2026 prediction

HINT: Japan ODDS: 8/15 21 JUN @ 05:00

Two nations that were involved in high-scoring games in the opening round meet in Mexico in the early hours of Saturday morning, BST.

Japan were involved in a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands in which they twice came from behind to earn their point, whilst Tunisia were hammered 1-5 by Sweden.

Those results and performance suggest only one thing in this game: a Japan win.

Keito Nakamura scored a long range goal in the opener, and Daichi Kamada scored the equaliser for the East Asian nation. They were well organised and I simply being them too good in terms of quality and tactics compared to Tunisia who simply looked awful in their opener.

Japan have a good chance of winning the group following their draw with the Netherlands. It will likely take six points and a better goal difference than the Netherlands but we’ll see. For now, it’s all about picking up three points in their second outing.

Tunisia had a good qualifying campaign but were completely outplayed by one of Europe’s strugglers to qualify, Sweden. Goalkeeper Mouhib Chamakh was to blame for two of the five goals conceded, whilst full-backs Ali Abdi and Yan Valery really struggled defensively. Well, the whole side struggled defensively.

Best bet: Japan to win is 8/15 with Bet365
Value bet: Japan to win -1.5 is 5/4 with Bet365
