Tottenham vs Brighton prediction

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking for their first home win of the 2020-21 Premier League season when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to North London on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho’s side were 1-0 winners away to Burnley on Monday night – their first clean sheet of the new campaign, but a defensive performance that suggests they can avoid dropping points against the lower clubs.

Brighton & Hove Albion have had a tough start to the new season, with a 3-0 victory away to Newcastle United being their only win of the new campaign. They were held 1-1 at home by strugglers West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Graham Potter’s side have shipped nine goals in their past four outings so now isn’t an ideal time to be coming up against Heung-min Son and Harry Kane. I expect the Spurs duo to fire their side to victory in this one.

The bookmakers tend to agree but I was expecting the odds to be a lot lower. At a price of 1.68 I think Spurs are good value to back this weekend in a game I cannot see them dropping points at home this time.

Brighton have looked weak at the back in recent weeks, and although they continue to score goals, I simply think they’ll have a tough time to break down to the Tottenham defence once this weekend, let alone the couple of times they are probably going to need to do to get something from this game. Home win for me.
