Sheff Utd vs Tottenham prediction
Sheffield United picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday night by beating Newcastle United 1-0 at Bramall Lane. This moves Chris Wilder’s side up to five points after 18 games but a near-mission impossible to keep his side up.
24 hours later and it was déjà vu for Tottenham Hotspur, who sat on a one-goal lead away to Fulham only to be pegged back. Jose Mourinho’s side have now won just two of their last eight Premier League games and outside the top four.
Much has been made of Spurs’ inability to hold onto a lead this season and others believe Sheffield United will see an upturn of form now. As a result, the visitors to Yorkshire on Sunday are a much better price than I was expecting this weekend.
Yes, Tottenham have been unreliable in recent weeks but they have more than enough quality to see off the Blades. And I refuse to believe Mourinho is going to drop points in back-to-back games versus relegation contenders. Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn are all capable of scoring. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Carlos Vinicius get a chance up front with another good performance in a cup competition last weekend.
As always this season, the game is live on TV for those who aren’t as confident as me pre-game. But I really like the value in Tottenham this weekend.
