Euro 2024
Poland vs Netherlands Euro 2024 Prediction

The Netherlands kick off their Euro 2024 campaign on Sunday with a match versus Poland at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.
Ronald Koeman’s side have a mix of experienced players and exciting youth, whom could cause a couple of upsets in Germany. They will want to start with a win because they have France on matchday 2. France beat the Oranje twice in qualifying, including a 4-0 thrashing in Paris. Netherlands did win their other six games though, conceding just once.
Brentford’s Mark Flekken is expected to start between the posts, with all three goalkeepers have less than 10 caps heading into this summer’s tournament. The experienced Virgil van Dijk will partner Matthijs de Ligt in what is expected to be a back three. Netherlands were dealt a huge blow before the tournament, losing both Frenkie de Jong and Teun Koopmeiners to injury in central midfield. The head coach still has the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Tijjani Reijnders, Ryan Gravenberch and Joey Veerman, whilst Xavi Simons, Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo all offer pace in attack to support target man Wout Weghorst.
Poland were handed a blow of their own heading into the tournament as Robert Lewandowski will miss the opening match through injury. They will be looking towards Krzysztof Piatek for goals on Sunday as well as Napoli star Piotr Zielinski. Otherwise, there really aren’t too many goals throghout the rest of the squad. Verona’s Karol Swiderski was the only other player to score more than once in the qualifying group. They had five different scorers in beating Estonia in the playoffs before a 0-0 draw and penalty shootout win over Wales booked their place in Germany three months ago.
Michal Probierz’s side looked anything but convincing in qualfying, taking just 11 points from 8 games, finishing 4 points behind both Albania and the Czech Republic. And 6 of those points came versus the Faroe Islands and only 1 versus Moldova.
Netherlands can be hit and miss in this tournaments which does make them unpredictable heading into most tournaments. But I really like their matchup in attack for Sunday’s first games and they really should be able to win comfortably.
Best bet: Netherlands to win is 11/20 with Bet365
