Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle prediction

Newcastle United will be looking to build in last weekend’s win over Wolverhampton Wanderers when they travel down to the East Midlands on Friday night.
Three points would instantly put Eddie Howe’s side back into top four contention following a poor run of form that ended over the weekend.
Nottingham Forest themselves have fallen back into relegation contenion following a bad run of form of their own. Steve Cooper’s side have taken just two points from their last five, failing to keep a clean sheet during this run, scoring four and amassing 12 goals against.
Newcastle have generally been excellent in defence this season and I can see them picking up a clean sheet in this one to help them on their way to victory. Miguel Almiron and Aleksandar Isak have been two of their better players this year and both were on the scoresheet on Sunday when they beat Wolves 2-1 at St James’ Park.
The visitors may want to start the game on the front foot having seen Forest concede twice in the first half in each of their past two outings.
This is the final game of the month for each team with the interntional break coming up. A good opportunity for Newcastle to put themselves back into the Champions League hunt, whilst Forest players may already be thinking about the break to get their mind off the miserable run their own.
