Premier League
Norwich vs Liverpool prediction
Norwich City welcome Liverpool to Carrow Road in their return to the top flight after winning the EFL Championship last season.
The Canaries started their previous Premier League campaign with a 1-4 loss away to Liverpool and would go on to win just five games under Daniel Farke that campaign.
With that experience the German coach should be better prepared for this season’s campaign but has been handed one of the toughest starts possible to the 2021-22 campaign.
Adding a further blow to Norwich’s preparation to the new season, Emi Buendía was sold in a £38 million deal to Aston Villa. The playmaker had been one of their stars in their last Premier League campaign as well as helping them making an immediate return.
Farke will be hoping the loan signing of Billy Gilmour from Chelsea will be a direct replacement in the middle of the park. Winger Milot Rashica was signed from relegated Werder Bremen but otherwise there were no significant names among the arrivals this summer.
Liverpool fans will be hoping to get off to a winning start and a title challenge. It has been another quiet transfer window from Jurgen Klopp, with defender Ibrahima Konate the only new arrival. The Reds have seen Georginio Wijnaldum leave for Paris Saint-Germain.
This should be a straightforward victory for Liverpool, who have their stars fresh for the season opener in East Anglia. Norwich play an attacking style of football with their coach refusing to change his ways even against the top teams. This should leave space at the back for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to exploit on Saturday.
