Premier League
Man City vs Spurs prediction
Manchester City have the opportunity to move within five points of Premier League leaders Arsenal on Thursday night when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Etihad.
Spurs failed to make a dent in Arsenal’s title challenge over the weekend as they were soundly beaten 0-2 at home by their North London rivals and barely threw a punch.
Antonio Conte’s side have now taken just four points from their four games since the league resumed and are five points behind fourth place Newcastle United in the top four as their UEFA Champions League push is starting to fade.
Manchester City themselves will want to bounce back from the controversial 1-2 loss at Manchester United on Sunday when Bruno Fernandes scored a goal despite Marcus Rashford being miles offside in the build up. Expect that controversy to put a bit of anger into the City players and potentially thrash Spurs in this game.
Erling Haaland hasn’t scoredin his last two and Pep Guardiola’s side haven’t scored more than one in each of their last three Premier League games now. With Tottenham’s defence looking fragile this season I really think they could stick a few past Hugo Lloris in this game to keep in touch with Arsenal.
I cannot see Tottenham coming away from the Etihad with anything on Thursday night.
