Liverpool vs Man City prediction
Manchester City will be looking to improve their Premier League winning streak to 10 games on Sunday when they travel to an out-of-form Liverpool.
The Citizens head into the weekend three points ahead of Manchester United and with a game in hand as they look to regain the Premier League title they lost to this weekend’s opponents last season.
The defending champions will realistically be out of the race with defeat at Anfield this weekend as they are already seven points behind the leaders having played a game more.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are going through a rough patch of late too – winning just two of their last eight, which included losing 0-1 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion midweek and have failed to score in their last four at home since drawing 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion at the end of 2020.
Meanwhile, the Citizens have blown a few teams away during their winning streak, which includes six consecutive clean sheets and eight in those games.
With the defensive injuries Liverpool are currently suffering and the form of City’s defence I am really surprised Pep Guardiola’s side aren’t odds on and will be looking to take full advantage of their surprising odds. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho could be playing makeshift roles at centre-back to fend off the likes of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. A mismatch.
