Premier League
Leeds vs Leicester prediction
Leeds United have made a fairly impressive start to the 2020-21 Premier League season but it falls far short of how well Leicester City have been playing.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side scored three goals in the second half last weekend to beat Aston Villa 3-0, but they were fortunate not to be behind before Patrick Bamford opened the scoring 10 minutes after the break.
Last season’s Championship winners were beaten 0-1 at home by Wolverhampton Wanderers before that. Wolves themselves have a tactically sound manager, although have made a slow start to the new campaign.
Leicester have a good tactician in Brendan Rodgers too and I think that will be Leeds’ big undoing. Bielsa’s tactics are simply too risky against the top teams at this level, as proven in their loss to Liverpool. I really think the Foxes can do a number on Leeds at Elland Road on Monday night.
The East Midlands club came away with a 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium last weekend – a game in which they spent most of the time defending before scoring with their first effort on target, through substitute Jamie Vardy. Vardy will start this one which means Leeds could be behind as early as the first half rather than Leicester leaving it late as they did in North London.
Leicester have a number of good players on the counter-attack to expose this Leeds defence and I think they will be picking up another three points on their travels from this one.
Best bet: Leicester to win is 2.9 with Betfair
