World Cup

Ghana vs Uruguay prediction

HINT: Lay Uruguay ODDS: 1.77 2 DEC @ 15:00

Ghana are in a strong position to reach the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup from Group H. The West African nation sit second on three points, behind already-qualified Portugal on six, and ahead of both Uruguay and South Korea on one.

Otto Addo’s side were unfortunate not to grab a late equaliser in their opener versus Portugal before looking impressive in attack in their 3-2 win over South Korea. Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus has been one of the stars of the tournament in the early stages and grabbed a brace in that game.

Whilst Ghana have scored and conceded five goals in their two games combined, opponents Uruguay have yet to find the back of the net and have conceded twice. They’ve looked poor in attack in both games and allowed 15 shots on their goal versus Portugal, albeit only three on target. An ageing defence, a lack of cohesion in defence, I expect they’ll be going home at the group stage.

I think the Black Stars can win this game whilst a draw may be enough to get them through too. And I am surprised to see the South Americans are odds on for this match.

Best bet: Lay Uruguay at 1.77 with Betfair
