Everton vs Arsenal prediction
Arsenal ended a run of five games without a goal by drawing 1-1 at home to Southampton midweek. However, the draw saw key centre-back Gabriel sent off and therefore the Brazilian misses the trip to Everton on Saturday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side appear to have changed their fortune over the past week, firstly beating Chelsea 1-0 and then a very impressive 2-0 win away to Leicester City on Wednesday night. The victory puts the Toffees up to 5th with the chance of being a top four team on Christmas Day with a victory at home to Arsenal this weekend.
I do believe a win is what the Everton players and fans should be expecting when they welcome Arsenal to Goodison Park too. Mikel Arteta’s side have looked woeful in recent weeks, with just two points from their last six and just that one goal during this run.
The Arsenal players don’t appear to be putting in much fight and defensively they’ve looked a shambles at times. The absence of Gabriel for this game will be a huge blow I reckon, particularly when facing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and trying to defend set pieces.
Whilst this is anything but a certainty, I think it’s a solid single bet for the weekend given the great odds.
