Crystal Palace vs Liverpool prediction
Roberto Firmino headed home a late winner versus Tottenham Hotspur midweek to send Liverpool alone at the top of the Premier League. Victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side away to Crystal Palace on Saturday would ensure they remain there on Christmas Day.
The Eagles have just one win in their past five league matches, and although it was an impressive 5-1 thrashing versus lowly West Bromwich Albion, they will be facing the top side in the country this weekend.
Roy Hodgson’s side have not kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season, whilst Liverpool are the Premier League’s top scorers. I just don’t see how Palace are going to shut out the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Firmino or Diogo Jota at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
With it being the final game before Boxing Day and a week in between, I think Jurgen Klopp sends out his strongest side with the intention of netting a few in a comfortable win in this one. There won’t be much fear of needing to rotate as they finally have a midweek off between now and facing West Brom.
The Reds have been fairly inconsistent this season but still only have that defeat at Aston Villa to their name. They have already had a disappointing draw away to Fulham this month but I don’t see them slipping up in any of their remaining fixtures in 2020.
Liverpool’s attack will simply outscore Crystal Palace in this game as they have no way of matching up to them.
