Brighton vs Chelsea prediction

HINT: Chelsea ODDS: 1.67 14 SEP @ 20:00

Brighton & Hove Albion host Chelsea on Monday night in their opening game of the 2020-21 Premier League season.

Frank Lampard’s side have been busy in the transfer market so far, with big money signings Timo Werner and Kai Havertz both available to make their debuts at the AMEX Stadium, whilst Ben Chilwell is still recovering from an injury that kept him out of the end of Leicester City’s 2019-20 campaign.

The future looks promising for the Blues, although I am still not sold on the manager. As for Brighton, expect them to be in a relegation scrap this year if they don’t invest more during the transfer window. Adam Lallana and Joel Veltman their only new signings to date, whilst Aaron Mooy has been sold to Shanghai, Shane Duffy has moved to Celtic and Martin Montoya to Real Betis.

I don’t make the Seagulls one of the three favourites to go down though as Graham Potter’s side showed they were more than capable of scraping for draws last season, which included a 1-1 in this fixture on New Year’s Day.

Chelsea’s attack could look very promising in their opening game of the season, with Timo Werner likely to be supported by the likes of Haverts, Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount. These four should produce some goals together, particularly against the likes of Brighton.

Odds aren’t anything special on Chelsea to win but I do think it’s one of the more certainties in the opening weekend.

Best bet: Chelsea to win is 1.67 with Bet365
