Aston Villa vs Everton prediction

Aston Villa will look to add more salt into the wound of Everton when the two sides meet at Villa Park in Saturday’s evening Premier League kickoff.

The Toffees have lost all three Premier League games to start their 2024-25 campaign, getting thrashed without scoring in their first two before blowing a 2-0 lead in the 86th minute at home to Bournemouth before the international break. They have already conceded 10 goals this season with a 0-3 thrashing at home by Brighton & Hove Albion and then 0-4 at Tottenham Hotspur in August.

Unai Emery is doing a tremendous job at Villa Park and his side will be playing in the UEFA Champions League for the first time this week when they go to Young Boys of Bern on Tuesday night. First, to take care of domestic business though.

The Villans were 2- 1 winners at West Ham United in their season opener, also a Saturday evening game. They were beaten 0-2 at Arsenal before winning 2-1 at Leicester City before the international break. They were 2-0 up and in control of the game before a nervy finish.

Emery does have a few absentees to deal with. Tyrone Mings and Boubacar Kamara are back in training but won’t be fit in time for this one. Leon Bailey and Matty Cash have recently been added to the injury list. Pau Torres and Ezri Konza will continue to be the centre-back pairing whilst Lamare Bogarde could come in at right-back.

Visitors Everton could start the same XI that faced Bournemouth with the break as Seamus Coleman may not be fit in time for the weekend. Jarrad Branthwaite and Armando Broja continue to remain on the sidelines.

Everton’s defence has conceded at least three goals in all three games this season and coming up against the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers shouldn’t make it any easier on Saturday. Although the hosts are seeking their first clean sheet of the season I fully expect them to outscore the Toffees in ths one.
