Premier League
Arsenal vs Man City prediction
Manchester City would go top of the Premier League table with three points at the Emirates on Wednesday night.
That’s because long-time leaders Arsenal have taken just one point from their last two matches – suprisingly beaten 0-1 at Everton followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Brentford over the weekend.
Though Pep Guardiola’s side aren’t in perfect form themselves, having lost 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur a week ago, they will be intent on a win in North London before the UEFA Champions League knockout returns in a week’s time.
Erling Haaland has been listed as doubtful for this match but many expect the Norwegian superstar to start, which would leave the defending champions without only John Stones for this match.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been without former Citizen Gabriel Jesus since the World Cup, and will also be missing influential midfielder Thomas Partey. Mikel Arteta has to make do without a couple of squad players in Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Mohamed Elneny too.
I fully expect Manchester City to turn up to the Emirates and put Arsenal to the sword on Wednesday night. I am not suggesting we’re seeing the real Arsenal in their previous two games, but they’re struggling up front and haven’t kept a clean sheetin either of their last three Premier League outings.
City have scored 10 in their last four, despite that including a 0-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur. The likes of Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and co are all capable of unlocking this Arsenal defence.
Although the bookmakers don’t agree with me, I think we’ll see a comfortable Manchester City win midweek.
Best bet: Man City to win is 7/5 with BetFred
