Arsenal vs Leicester prediction
Arsenal made an impressive start to their 2022-23 Premier League campaign last weekend with a 2-0 victory away to Crystal Palace. Gabriel Martinelli’s fine finish opened their scoring on the season whilst they benefited from an own goal in the second half.
Aaron Ramsdale started the season with a clean sheet, helped with a back four of Ben White, Gabriel, William Saliba and new signing Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Leicester City looked headed to a good start to their new campaign on Sunday too as they lead 2-0 inside the opening minute of the second half at home to Brentford. However, Brendan Rodgers side let it slip in the final half hour and had to settle for a point.
It’s hard to predict the Foxes finishing in the top half right now as they’ve been very quiet in the transfer window. Losing Kasper Schmeichel to Nice was a huge blow just days before their home game. Danny Ward had to step in between the sticks, conceded two from Brentford’s three shots on target.
Ward may have to face the Gunners this weekend too and a defence in front of them that could include Daniel Amartey again doesn’t sound so promising against an Arsenal attack that includes Martinelli and Bakary Saka. How Gabriel Jesus fares we’ll have to wait and see, because I wasn’t a fan of him at Manchester City, but he did put a good effort in on his debut.
