World Cup
France vs Poland prediction
France were comfortable winners of Group D despite losing 0-1 to Tunisia in their final game. Didier Deschamps made nine changes for that match on Wednesday and the biggest thing we can take from it is that the defending world champions’ star players will be fresh for the second round, having had a full week off essentially from their win over Denmark last Saturday.
Whereas, Poland spent much of their 0-2 loss to Argentina chasing the ball and only qualified on goal difference after Mexico failed to put a third past Saudi Arabia, despite taking a 2-0 lead as early as the 52nd minute. That game was played on Wednesday, meaning Czesław Michniewicz will have only had three full days’ rest in comparison.
That’s only a small factor to take into account for this one, as France are the best team in the world right now in my opinion. Kylian Mbappe is going to cause Matty Cash endless problems down the left wing, Ousmane Dembele is looking like a creative threat down the opposite and Olivier Giroud goes in search of that goal which will make him France’s all-time record scorer. They also have Antoine Griezmann in the starting XI.
Expect one-way traffic in this one and a comfortable victory for Les Bleus. No upsets happening on Sunday.
