Premier League
Man City vs Man Utd prediction
Manchester City will be looking to humiliate their local rivals on Sunday as they continue their push for a fifth Premier League title in six seasons.
Pep Guardiola’s side are scoring for run of late – three at Wolverhampton Wanderers two weeks ago, two against Borussia Dortmund and four at Sevilla in their two matches beforehand.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have bounced back from their 4-0 shock at Brentford, with victories over Liverpool and Arsenal. But these results don’t pain over the cracks that remain in the Red Devils’ defence.
Whilst Erik ten Hag’s side were able to hit both sides on the counter-attack in the the aforementioned games, neither Arsenal nor Liverpool control possession like City.
The playmaking abilities from the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish will be able to unlock this United defence, whilst Erling Haaland and Phil Foden’s movement off the ball will see both players see a number of chances on Sunday.
Haaland has scored back-to-back hat-tricks in home Premier League games and I wouldn’t put it past the Norwegian superstar to score three again if his side get off to an early start.
Yes, United have their own pace on the counter-attack and things worked out well against Arsenal when they were flying high. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do see a few chances in this game themselves but it’ll be their defence that’s the biggest undoing for them at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City are going to win this derby, the big question is, by how many goals?
Dead cert: Man City to win is 1.38 with Betfair
Best bet: Man City to win -1.5 goals is 10/11
Value bet: Erling Haaland to score 3+ goals 6/1
