Leeds vs Arsenal prediction

Arsenal are looking to build on their eight wins from nine games to start the 2022-23 Premier League season when they travel to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners are coming off the back of a 3-2 victory over Liverpool last weekend in which Bukayo Saka scored a brace, including the winner in the final 15 minutes. Mikel Arteta was able to rotate a number of players for the 1-0 win at Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

Leeds United are winless since taking seven points from their first three matches to start the season, taking just two from five since. Jesse Marsch’s side were beaten 2-1 at Crystal Palace last weekend, and thrashed 5-2 at Brentford not so long ago.

I expect Arsenal to control possession and territory in this game with Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka bringing the ball forward to supply the front four. Saka should cause problems down the right wing, and if Martin Odegaard returns as expected he can pick the back four apart.

Arsenal’s defence is playing well this season but Rodrigo does have four goals to his name for Leeds. He’ll likely be the biggest threat in this match but I expect chances to be few and far between for the hosts. A comfortable win is on the cards for Arteta’s side.
