Premier League
Chelsea vs Liverpool prediction

Chelsea welcome champions Liverpool to Stamford Bridge on Sunday as Frank Lampard’s expensive attack look to register their first Premier League goals.
The Blues were 3-1 winners away to Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night but it would have been interesting to see how they got on but for Reece James’ stunning strike to restore the lead just before the hour.
Neither Timo Werner nor Kai Havertz were among the goals on their debut at the AMEX Stadium, though the former did the win the penalty from which Jorginho opened the scoring.
Liverpool were 4-3 winners over newly-promoted Leeds United with Mohamed Salah scoring a hat-trick. They scored all their goals from set pieces and I wouldn’t be surprised if they scored against Chelsea from one this weekend too.
I’m not a fan of Frank Lampard’s sides defences based on his Derby County team and last season so I am expected Liverpool to come out on top of this one, either tactically or if it comes down to a shootout. Jurgen Klopp’s side were 2-1 winners in this fixture last September and then 5-3 in the penultimate game of the season, when the Reds had long sealed the title and whilst Chelsea were still needing points to guarantee a top four finish.
Chelsea will still be without new left-back Ben Chilwell so don’t be surprised if Salah scores again this weekend. I wouldn’t say Liverpool are a certainty this weekend but at odds against I think they’re a very good price based on last season’s head-to-head between the two managers and the two squads.
Best bet: Liverpool to win is 6/5 with Bet365
