Chelsea vs Arsenal prediction

Arsenal will be looking to make a statement on Sunday when they travel across London to face rivals Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta’s side are top of the Premier League but few are taking them seriously as title contenders despite winning 10 of their first 12 and topping the table.

Graham Potter’s initial good start as Chelsea manager has started to fall away in recent weeks. Held 0-0 at Brentford was followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United before being hammered 1-4 at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

As a result, I am surprised not to see Arsenal’s odds much shorter for their trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend. Instead, both teams are priced at 2.78.

Edouard Mendy will be back between the sticks for the hosts following an injury to Kepa Arrizabalaga. Key midfielder N’Golo Kante is sidelined, as are defenders Wesley Fofana, Reece James and Ben Chilwell.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been excellent down the wings for the Gunners this season, as has Martin Odegaard in the number 10 role. Unfortunately, striker Gabriel Jesus has gone eight games without a goal now. But the visitors should have the beating of this Chelsea defence that were torn open by Brighton last weekend.

I certainly expect Arsenal to get something from this game and because of their high price I am happy to back them too.
