Aston Villa vs Chelsea prediction
Graham Potter will be looking to make it three wins from three Premier League matches when he takes his Chelsea side to Villa Park on Sunday.
In the opposite dugout, rumours are suggesting Steven Gerrard will be relieved of his duties by Aston Villa should his side lose this game.
The Blues are coming back from a 2-0 win at 10-man AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night and should be fairly fresh given the Italian giants saw Fikayo Tomori sent off after just 18 minutes.
Potter also has a wealth of depth to rotate his squad and still look significantly stronger on paper than the hosts.
Aston Villa are actually unbeaten in their last four, but aside from their 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City at the start of September, they have been facing bottom half teams. This includes 0-0 draws at Leeds United and 1-1 at bottom of the league Nottingham Forest.
Chelsea offer a much different threat than Nottingham Forest and with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz, I see the Blues breaching Villa’s backline a couple of times this weekend. They are also much longer odds than I was expecting.
Best bet: Chelsea to win is 5/6
