Arsenal vs Spurs prediction
Either Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur will be top of the Premier League table at the end of the North London derby on Saturday lunchtime.
Mikel Arteta’s side head into the weekend as the league’s leaders, one point above both Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur having won six of their seven league games to start the 2022-23 campaign.
Although Fulham are the only current top eight side they have beaten, their 3-0 thrashing away to Brentford before the international break was impressive. Gabriel Jesus has been involved in seven goals in seven games (4 Goals, 3 Assists) since his arrival over the summer, whilst Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard have three each.
Meanwhile, only Manchester City have scored more goals than Spurs as we head into the weekend. Antonio Conte’s side are unbeaten in London – four wins out of four at home and drawing away games at Chelsea and West Ham United. In fact, those latter two are the only times they’ve dropped points so far this campaign.
Heung-min Son’s hat-trick in the 6-2 demolition of Leicester before the break were the South Korean star’s first goals of the season. Strike partner Harry Kane already has six and loves scoring in this fixture. They have supply on each wing from Dejan Kulusevski and Ivan Perisic.
Although the international break means some players are coming back from miles away and will have had less preparation time for this game than usual, I am still expecting a thrilling encounter at the Emirates Stadium. Attack is the strength of both these sides so we should be in for a goalfest.
