Arsenal vs Brentford prediction

Arsenal will be looking to build on last week’s 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers when they host out-of-form Brentford on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to make a push for the top four and have games in hand on sides above them to do so.

The Gunners have a great opportunity to pick up another three points at the Emirates Stadium this weekend when they host a Brentford side that have taken just one point from their last seven Premier League matches as relegation becomes a realisation for the debutants who made an impressive start to the season.

That one point did come in their last game though as they held Crystal Palace to a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park last weekend. That does mean Thomas Frank’s side are without a goal in their last two though and haven’t scored more than one in their last seven since beating Aston Villa 2-1 on 2 January.

Arsenal will be looking for revenge after losing 0-2 in the reverse fixture in their opening game of the 2021-22 Premier League season. The Bees went on to take 12 points from their first seven games but have only picked up 12 points from their 18 games since.

Arteta’s side have had lots of time to rest and train over the past two months, with the victory at Molineux being only their third game in 2022 due to postponements. We could argue that they may not be up to full match fitness, but last Thursday’s win at Wolves would suggest otherwise.

Brentford are much weaker opposition and the game is being played in North London. Everything points to a home win and the odds are better than we were expecting.
